MRT Testing
As a strength coach my number one priority is to get my athletes/clients results…fast. Recently I discovered MRT (mediated release testing), a patented blood test procedure that isolates a patient’s trigger foods, additives, colorings, and chemicals, and lays the foundation for quickly developing a safe eating plan,
without the hassle and guesswork of elimination diets. For so many of our athletes this is the missing piece in their efforts to lose body fat, feel more energized, and improve over health.
How does it work?
Food intolerance reactions can be very complex, involving different immune pathways, possible delayed onset of symptoms, and probable dosage related reactions. In addition, just think about how many different foods, additives, and chemicals are found in the typical American diet, and then imagine that it can be almost any of those items that you are reactive too!
The good news is that MRT can help simplify and solve the problem of identifying reactive foods and chemicals.
MRT helps pinpoint which foods and chemicals are causing immune cells to “react” and release “mediators” into their blood. Mediators are very powerful chemicals such as Histamine, Prostaglandins, Serotonin, and Cytokines (to name a few), which can have negative effects on our physiology.
When intolerant foods are consumed and provoke mediator release in meaningful amounts, they become the actual cause of symptom production experienced by the patient.
Because the typical American diet consists of a wide array of foods, additives, and chemicals, and any of those substances many be contributing to symptom production, the MRT panel covers 123 most common foods and 27 most common additives/chemicals.
The Process
A precise amount of the patient’s blood is dispensed into a number of individual test vials. Then it is allowed to incubate and react with the test substance. If a food or chemical induces a reaction, mediators from within the immune cells are released. MRT precisely measures changes, allowing for accurate detection of reactive foods and chemicals.
Significant reactions are categorized as being either “Reactive” (red), or Moderately-Reactive (yellow). Non-Reactive substances fall into the green category and form the basis of the client’s diet moving forward.
How do I get tested?
Go Primal has a special relationship with Signet Diagnostic Corporation and their board of medical advisors to help make this process easy and fast.
Step 1: Speak to Chris about whether MRT testing is right for you.
Step 2: Go Primal will call you to schedule the blood draw (at Go Primal)
Step 3: Blood is sent to the lab for testing
Step 4: When we receive your results we will call you to schedule a review
Step 5: Begin Safety Diet of Non-Reactive Foods
