Coaches

The coaches and associates of Go Primal Fitness and Training Institute are a family. We love each other like we love our mothers, our fathers, our brothers and our sisters. No one member is greater than the next. All thoughts, ideas, honors and acknowledgements are shared with equality and righteousness. If one member makes a mistake we all do. If one member finds success we all do. This is how we want it and this is how we need it. We are all professionals, dedicated to each other and the people we train. We will never be accused of not caring about anyone and everyone who walks through our doors. Our aim, collectively, is to continuously create with each other and through each other something great for our community. This community extends beyond our walls, beyond our city, and beyond our nation, to the world at-large. Through our own understanding of the responsibility necessary to live fully each and every day we make the world a better place to live.

Chris White

Born: May 30th 1979 in Bluefield, WVA (that’s right West Virginia, Ye Ha!!!)

Position: Co-Founder

Favorite Food: Bacon and eggs

Favorite Drink: Mid-day Espresso (Organic of course!)

Likes to Read: Philosophy and anything related to history

Dislikes: People who drive cars over $70,000 but think organic food is too expensive. Unhealthy "health" care professionals.

Philosophy on Exercise: I think exercise is one of the most spiritual practices there is. So many people don’t find the time or energy to do it because their perception of exercise is altered by superficial concepts projected through magazines and television. Furthermore, today’s methods of exercise are thoughtlessly carried out on expensive machines and cardiovascular equipment. To hell with that! If I had to exercise like that I’d hate it to. I got into this profession because I understand that exercise is way more than lifting a few weights and breaking a sweat three times a week. I am trying to usher in what use to be. And that is to see the body as the church of health, and to see the gym as a temple where one exercises, listens to good music, thinks, and communes with people of likemind and vigor. Our gym is a sacred space, a place where science and spirit are one. Exercise for us is simply a means of enjoying your life and taking ownership of your own body and mind, for that is the highest form of spiritual growth there is.

Vincent A. Cambrea

Born: December 20th, 1977 Spring Valley, New York

Position: Co-Founder

Favorite Food: Chili, broccoli, yogurt, trail mix

Favorite Drink: H2O

Likes to Read: Spiritual books, inspiring quotes, anatomy books, bio-mechanical research, quantum physics and anything related to self growth

Dislikes: Being lied to, missing sleep, poor quality food, loud noise, bright light, chaos

Philosophy on Exercise: Go Primal!!! We are alive today because of the physical activities of our ancestors and if we want to continue to thrive mentally, emotionally and physically we need to stop looking at exercise as a choice and start making it a way of life.

Ryan Hodge

Born: February 7th, 1981 Chicago, IL

Position: F.I.T. Level I Coach

Favorite Food: Maine Lobster

Favorite Drink: Water

Likes to Read: Science Fiction, Classic American and English Literature

Dislikes: Denial, Limitations, Avoidance, Being Used

Philosophy on Exercise: It is one of the pieces of existence that we cannot survive without. We eat so we have the energy to move. We move to go about our lives. Exercise is movement in training and it encompasses all that is physical, mental, and emotional. Emotions flow into thoughts, which through willpower become physical actions. Difficult exercise makes our bodies stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally, training our willpower to do our bidding. We should reach for the tallest heights and continue climbing because ceasing means we fall. When we stop exercise, our wills, minds, emotions, and bodies weaken. Never be the shark that stops swimming to take that permanent rest on the floor...

Annette Scott

Born: September 15th, 1969 Dubuque, Iowa

Position: Facility Manager

Favorite Food: Raspberries and popcorn

Favorite Drink: Yerba mate and black tea mixed with raw milk and stevia

Likes to Read: The Sun, Hafiz, great fiction when I'm not reading literature relating to health, the body and energy

Dislikes: Inefficiency, rude peeps, purposeful ignorance and being bored by some gas bag

Philosophy on Exercise: The quote, "Health begins with firmness in body, deepens to emotional stability, and then leads to intellectual clarity, wisdom and finally, the unveiling of the soul." by BKS Iyengar captures my sentiments most fully. Moving the body enables us to clarify the physical aspect of ourselves so that our inner divinity and the subtleties of our soul can shine forth. Ultimately, it enables us to offer the best of ourselves in service to our loved ones and our community.

Mandi Lewis

Born: March 24th 1983 Dade City, FL

Likes to Read: My anatomy books, Inspiring Thoughts, The Wonder of Child, and Spoken Word

Dislikes: Negativity, generalizations, laziness, flat tires, loneliness, neglect

Philosophy on Exercise: In order to have energy we must create it. Exercise and movement are activities that positively fuel the entire body, mind, and spirit. Through exercise we can inspire an entire community to move more freely into an optimal state of health and well-being.

Ashley Campbell

Born: Feb. 27th 1978 in Denver, CO

Position: F.I.T. Level I Coach

Favorite Food: Fresh Alaskan Halibut and Salmon, (sweet) potatoes, avocados, eggs, apples (with peanut butter).

Favorite Drink: Matte Latte (yerba matte, sucanut, cardamon, half and half), crispy sweet, slightly cool water. No ice please.

Likes to Read: Motivational/Inspirational quotes, dietary/health books, children's books, "How to" books.

Dislikes: Not being heard (people who don't listen), generalizations, not being told the truth, being so hungry I have a bad attitude, negative self talk.

Philosophy on Exercise: I was barely a teenager when I realized, "my body is the temple for my soul." I was somewhere in my twenties when I heard the statement, "we are all spiritual beings, having a human experience." I believe that exercise and movement are essential factors for exploring and living and a way for the soul to shine and experience life. Exercise is like the match that sets fire under the body as a whole - mentally, physically and spiritually. Albert Einstein encompasses my philosophy with two quotes...

  1. "Life is like riding a bicycle, in order to keep your balance ... you must keep moving."
  2. "Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them."
